The most common one. It gives the wall depth without a heavy unit, and the wiring runs behind the flutes instead of down the wall.
Over the bed
A headboard wall, floor to ceiling or just the bed width. Warmer than paint and it takes a knock better.
Passage and entrance
A long blank wall is the hardest thing in a flat to make look finished. Flutes break it up and cost less than any other way of doing it.
Partition elevation
Used as the face of a room divider so the divider reads as a designed wall rather than a screen.
What to know before you order it
Dust sits in the grooves
This is the real trade-off and nobody mentions it. A fluted wall needs a dry cloth or a vacuum brush down the grooves now and then. A flat wall does not.
The wall has to be straight
Flutes are vertical lines, and vertical lines show every lean in a wall. If the wall is out we pack behind it, which is part of the fitting, not an extra.
Some are WPC, not PVC

Are fluted panels PVC or WPC?
Both exist and we fit both. Of the eight brands we work with, some are PVC and some are WPC - WPC has wood flour in it and is denser, PVC has none and cannot be attacked by water or termites. We tell you which board a panel is before you choose it.
Do fluted panels collect dust?
Yes, in the grooves. It is the one genuine drawback and it is easily handled - a dry cloth or the brush head of a vacuum down the flutes every few weeks. Worth knowing before you panel a whole passage.
Can fluted panels go on an uneven wall?
Yes. The panels are fitted on a frame rather than glued flat, so a wall that leans or bows is packed out behind during fitting. That is part of the job, not an extra charge.
